1.  Reading:  Your child will have reading homework every night.  I expect students to read every night the book in their folder and other books you have at home.  The more your child is reading at home, the better they will do in school!  Have your child get onto Raz-Kids.  Raz-Kids is a website where students can read books at their level and have books read to them.  The website is www.raz-kids.com or you can download the app onto your tablet or Ipad.  My teacher login is:  jeyberg.

2.  Math:  Your chlld will get Math homework twice a week.  The Math homework will come home in your child's Math Homelink Journal.  When the Math Homelink comes home, please complete the short Math assignment and have your child return the Math Homelink to school the next day.  Your child can practice Math skills on the Math website, www.IXL.com.  Your child will get a username and password at conference time.

I don't send a lot of homework home in first grade.  I feel first graders shouldn't have a lot of homework and that the focus for homework at home should be reading.  If there is ever a time where your family has a busy night and you can't get to reading or math homework, please let me know.  I am willing to be flexible because I know how busy some nights can be at home.
