11 Grade ACT Coming Up!

All 11th grade students are registered for the ACT and will take it on Tuesday, April 2, at NPHS.  There is no need to register, as this has already been done for you!  Counselors will meet with all 11th grade students in their Language Arts classes on Monday & Tuesday, March 18 & 19, to complete pre-test items.

On Tuesday, April 2, bring the following items for the ACT Test:  

  1.  Photo  I.D.   

  2.  Calculator   

  3.  #2 Pencils

Cell phones, smart watches, fitbits, and chromebooks are NOT allowed in the testing rooms.  Please leave these items at home or in your lockers.

10th Grade Pre-ACT Coming Up!

All 10th grade students are registered to take the Pre-ACT on Tuesday, April 2 at NPHS. There is no need to register, as this has already been done for you. Please get a good night's rest, and eat a healthy breakfast the morning of April 2. You should bring two #2 pencils and a calculator.

Total test time is 2 hours and 10 minutes (with
approximately 60 minutes of pre-test activities):
• English: 30 minutes
• Mathematics: 40 minutes
• Reading: 30 minutes
• Science: 30 minutes

College Fair Coming Up!

Students and families that would like to take advantage of a college fair in the area are invited to Farmington High School on Thursday, March 21st from 4:00-5:30 pm. Click for all the details and here for representatives that will be attending this event. This is a great opportunity to gather information from colleges you may be interested in. Contact our counseling office if you have any questions!

WHAT IS CHANGE TO CHILL? is a free online resource offered by Allina Health aimed at improving mental well-being among teens. Through collaboration with teens, parents, schools and community partners, the program:

* Provides easy-to-use information and resources about stress for teens

* Addresses what stress is, what triggers it and how to recognize its signs

* Equips teens with tools for coping with stress, such as meditation, mindful movement, how-to videos and guided imagery.
